Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, PSU. He has a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Master's degree from MIT in Civil Engineering., BS in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech University. His research areas are in modeling of environmental fluid mechanics: surface water quality and hydrodynamics and solid-liquid separation processes. He has written over 100 technical publications. He has been involved in over 100 water body studies in Oregon, California, Texas, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Hawaii, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Idaho, Washington, Canada, Israel/Jordan (Fulbright scholar 2007), Guyana, Peru, and the Ukraine (Fulbright scholar 1993-1994).

Research Assistant Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Portland State University. His educational background includes a BS in Physics from Oregon State University, a MS in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Resources: Civil Engineering from Portland State University. Dr. Berger has been involved in the development of numerous water quality models. Some of these include models for the Tualatin River, Oregon; Columbia Slough, Oregon; Willamette River, Oregon; Wahiawa Reservoir, Hawaii; Cooper Creek Reservoir, Oregon; Spokane River, Washington; Eucha and Spavinaw Reservoirs, Oklahoma, and the Snake River, Idaho.
