Professor, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, PSU. He has a Ph.D. from Cornell University in Civil and Environmental Engineering, Master's degree from MIT in Civil Engineering., BS in Civil Engineering at Tennessee Tech University. His research areas are in modeling of environmental fluid mechanics: surface water quality and hydrodynamics and solid-liquid separation processes. He has written over 100 technical publications. He has been involved in over 60 water body studies in Oregon, Hawaii, Florida, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Idaho, Washington, and the Ukraine, where he spent the 1993-1994 year as a Fulbright scholar.

His educational background includes a BS in Physics from Oregon State University, a MS in Civil Engineering from Portland State University, and a PhD in Environmental Sciences and Resources: Civil Engineering from Portland State University. Dr. Berger has been involved in the development of water quality models for the Tualatin River, Oregon; Columbia Slough, Oregon; Willamette River, Oregon; Wahiawa Reservoir, Hawaii; Cooper Creek Reservoir, Oregon; Spokane River, Washington; and the Snake River, Idaho.

He has a BS in Aerospace Engineering from Boston University, a MS from PSU, and a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from PSU. He has been involved in water quality modeling studies of lake/reservoir/riverine/estuary systems in Oregon and Washington such as Bull Run, Columbia Slough, Cooper Creek Reservoir, Siletz Bay-Schooner Creek, and the Willamette and Columbia Rivers.

Graduate Assistant, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Portland State University. He has a BS in Civil Engineering from PSU, and is currently working on his MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering at PSU. He has twice been a member of the PSU student chapter of ASCE's annual Concrete Canoe team. His other work involves Dr. William Fish and a project sponsored by the National Science Foundation named Virge, which seeks to develop a virtual interactive teaching package for groundwater remediation.
